Brian Westbrook has been looking for a new home all off season and even tried to get one with the Redskins and his former QB, Donovan McNabb. After that didn't work, time passed and he waited for a good position to open up. The 49ers offered that position signing Westbrook to a one year deal with $1.25 million guaranteed. After the sudden retirement of Glen Coffee, the 49ers needed a 2nd back for Frank Gore. Westbrook is as good as it gets. This might be the perfect backfield combo with Frank Gore being the main HB and Westbrook being the 3rd down back. This move will make the offense better, making for more of a complete passing game.
P.S. Now only if the 49ers had a good QB.
