With the trade deadline fast approaching, many possible trades are being discussed around the league. Is Dwight Howard going to get traded? What about Darren Williams of the Nets? Also, can I get a Queen for my Pawn that reached the other side? One player that might get traded and is being talked about is Rajon Rondo of the Celtics. This, however, is confusing. One minute the organization seems to shopping him around the league; the next minute Doc Rivers is saying he's confident that he'll stay and Danny Ainge is backing him up.
What is the deal, then? It's possible it's just rumor gone too far or just speculation on part of some sources. It's possible that the team was seeing what they could get for him to weigh their options and decided that it wasn't worth pursuing. It's also possible that there was a miscommunication between management and Doc Rivers that warranted the statements recently made. My bet is that Rondo is still available and that the team just wants to save face for the fans sake.
Will Rondo get traded or not? I would like to say he will. Rondo apparently has butted heads with the organization and the Celtics might want their future around this guy. The Celtics just have to press the reset button and try to organize a new team for years to come.
