Bulls Overcome Pacers, Heat Defeat 76ers and More

The first day of the NBA Playoffs was yesterday and it was exciting to finally have meaningful basketball in the NBA. The top team, the Chicago Bulls, played the Pacers and found some noticeable resistance. Despite trailing by ten in the final quarter, the Bulls managed to get the win, 104-99. They had a 16-1 run in the final 3:38 of the game. Derrick Rose was the star, as usual, getting 39 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Still, an impressive performance from Indiana as they made the statement that they won't go down easily. Just in the final minutes. OH SNAP!!!

Meanwhile, the Triple Heat played their first playoff game together and it went quite well despite a rocky first quarter. The Heat would get by the 76ers, 97-89. LeBron James played well with 21 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists while Chris Bosh wasn't too bad himself with 25 points and 12 rebounds. As for their in state rivals, the Magic, they would lose game 1 of their series against the Hawks, 103-93, despite 46 points and 19 rebounds by Dwight Howard.

Only one playoff game yesterday was played in the west and that was the Trail Blazers vs. the Mavericks. Despite the Blazers erasing a 10 point Maverick lead to take a 6 point lead of their own, Dallas' clutch players came through with Jason Kidd and Dirk Nowitzki leading the charge. The Mavs would win, 89-81. Kidd had 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists while Dirk had 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Nice start to the postseason as the Spurs, Lakers, and Celtics play their first games today.
