Last year had the Flyers complete "The Comeback" and this year already had the Blackhawks fall short of doing it against the Canucks in the first round. Now the Red Wings were giving "The Comeback" a try. They were down 3-0 in this series to the Sharks and have been on the brink of elimination for about a week. However, they fought back and tied the series up and the Decisive game 7 was last night. The Sharks grabbed an early lead getting 2 goals in the first period. When the score was 2-1 in the third period, Patrick Marleau finally came through for the Sharks by getting a goal. It would turn out to be the deciding goal as Pavel Datsyuk scored a goal for the Red Wings with roughly 6 minutes left. The Sharks do hold on and win, 3-2, and hold off the Red Wings 3-0 comeback attempt.
After choking in the postseason for so long, the Sharks avoid further embarrassment by just getting by the Red Wings. They should've won this series last week but I guess better late than never. Now they will take on the Canucks in the Western Conference Finals, the exact round in which they were eliminated last year.
