Even though the Giants missed an opportunity to clinch the NL Pennant in San Francisco, I am still very happy. Game 6 of the ALCS came with the Rangers looking to clinch the AL Pennant at their home stadium in Arlington. The game would be tight for a while until the 5th inning when the bats of the Rangers came alive. First Vladimir Guerrero hit a double that scored 2 runs and then Nelson Cruz would hit a home run that scored 2 more. Meanwhile Colby Lewis held the Yanks to one run in 8 innings of work. Neftali Feliz would close the 9th and seal the 6-1 victory. The Rangers eliminate the Yankees and go on to their first World Series ever.
The AL East will not be at the World Series this year after 3 straight appearances by 3 different teams. As for the Rangers, it's always great to hear a team get their first ever pennant, especially a team that has had such a bad history in the postseason. Cliff Lee will undoubtedly be the starter for Game 1 waiting for the Giants or the Phillies.
P.S. IT BETTER BE THE GIANTS!!!
