As usual, the 49ers disappoint yet again. The offense was horrible despite firing the offensive coordinator last week. Alex Smith threw for 188 Yards, 1 TD, and 2 INTs. Despite their poor offensive performance, they could've won this game. The 49ers were ahead 14-13 with less than two minutes to go when Matt Ryan threw an INT to Nate Clements. Clements ran hard trying to score and fumbled the ball when Roddy White knocked it out from behind. The Falcons recovered it and they had another shot. They drove down field to set up a 43 yard field goal attempt from Matt Bryant. Bryant made it of course and the 49ers lost, 16-14.
The 49ers look terrible once more and fall short again. Admirable effort against Atlanta but it just that: effort.
