I'm sure that anyone following this Bounty Gate story has heard the pregame speech given by Gregg Williams to his Saints defensive players the night before their NFC Playoff game vs. the 49ers. In it, he uses rough language basically trying to whip his players into a violent frenzy for the game. He has even used specifics talking about specific players and targeting body parts like the ACL. This timing couldn't be worse for the Bounty Gate appeals as this comes out while the appeals are going on.
I'm shocked... that people are shocked. These are grown men that have been trained since their youths to play a violent sport. You don't think that this kind of language gets used? Now I have heard from several analysts that some parts of this audio go too far with the suggestions of targeting body parts but several have also confirmed that a lot of it is commonplace. With a violent game comes people literally calling for violence. To be a fan of football and be shocked about it is a little hypocritical.
Football is a brutal sport: FACE IT OR GET RID OF IT!!!
P.S. Or change it to a degree.
P.P.S. I wonder what the 49ers Defensive Coordinator said before that same game?
