MEANINGLESS GAMES, YEAH!!!

Yesterday was the beginning of the NFL Preseason with 5 games being played across the league. Believe it or not, I actually watched a preseason game for a while. I watched the Seahawks-Chargers game. Okay, just part of it... muted... while I played MLB 11 The Show. I can only get so excited, OK. Tavaris Jackson was the player to watch for the Seahawks and boy it was awkward. He got hit a few times and was 3/5 with only 13 yards. He was only in there for a couple of series. As for the other team's main QB, Phillip Rivers still looks good. 5/6 with 87 yards and 1 TD pass, all in one series. The final score... doesn't matter at all.

Another game to watch was the Broncos-Cowboys game. Kyle Orton was only 2/6 with 37 yards but the people's choice, Tim Tebow, was 6/7 with 91 yards in the air and 15 yards in 2 carries on the ground. Not a bad game for Tebow. Not great. Somewhat in the middle. Meanwhile, the starter for the Cowboys, Tony Romo, saw little action as he was 3/5 with 33 yards.

As for the other games, Michael Vick played well in the little time he had in the Ravens-Eagles game. He was 4/6 with 74 yards and one TD pass. No rushing stats for Vick. Vince Young was out there for a bit and was 3/5 with 45 yards for the Eagles. Kevin Kolb made his Cardinals debut, I guess, and was 4/7 with 68 yards against the Raiders. Lastly, Blaine Gabbert made a start for the Jaguars as they faced the Pats. He went for 9/16 for 85 yards in his rough debut.

A somewhat exciting day of football considering there was a chance of none this year. The 49ers actually play there first preseason game today and against the Saints. Break a leg, Alex Smith. I mean your own leg.

P.S. I can be your throwing arm too if you're feeling generous.
