The NCAA has reviewed the several players that were declared ineligible and has handed out punishments. All 8 of the ineligible players must repay the gifts they received. They have also been suspended but for different amounts of time. One was suspended for 6 games, two for 4 games, and the rest for one game which included Jacory Harris. There was also mention of 4 other players that must repay the small amounts but they didn't seem to fall under the statute of suspensions or ineligibility.
Some damage done, for sure, but perhaps not enough. Now there isn't exactly a lot of National Title hype in Miami or BCS hype for that matter so these suspensions might not harm their season that much anyway. I still think they went to light on 5 of the players but I don't know the details and the specific rules in place regarding suspensions. The big concern is with the athletics program and how will the NCAA punish the U as a whole.
