The 49ers Won?

The 49ers had stayed east all week to help better prepare for their Sunday match up with the Philadelphia Eagles. Whether it did or didn't really help is debatable but it sure didn't hurt them. The 49ers went into Lincoln field ready to play and quickly fell behind by 20 points by the 3rd quarter. Already horrible, right? Of all the teams in the NFL, the 49ers were not a team that could make a 20 point comeback with less than a full half to go. Right? WRONG!!! Believe or not, Alex Smith and that thing the 49ers call an offense did it. Smith threw 2 TDs before the end of the quarter and then with 3 minutes left in the game Frank Gore scored the game winning TD. 49ers hold back the Eagles thanks to a costly fumble and win the game, 24-23.

The 49ers actually beat the Eagles who still haven't woke up from their nightmare and are now 1-3. The 49ers, meanwhile, are 3-1 and are the only team in the NFC West at or above .500. A magnificent start for the 49ers. I guess this is where I admit that Jim Harbaugh has done a good job. Well...

As for the Eagles, they have lost 3 straight games despite a good performance by Michael Vick. No injury this week, though. That's an improvement.
