We lost Terry and now we've lost Theo. Theo Epstein, the General Manager of the Red Sox since 2003, is leaving the franchise in order to be the GM of the Chicago Cubs. He has apparently agreed to a five year deal with the team worth $15-20 million. Now this is no doubt big news for the Cubs as they get a star GM to run their cursed team of a 100 plus years. The reason this guy is a bigger deal than most GMs? He's coming from a team that just shook it's 86 year curse under his watch. No doubt Cubs fans will expect Theo to orchestrate another curse breaking team for them. It will be a lot of work for Theo and the Cubs organization, especially in dealing with players on the Cubs that aren't living up to contract standards (Soriano).
Anyway, I would like to thank Theo for his many years of service as GM of the Red Sox nation. I appreciate the two World Titles that you and Terry Francona led the team to. I sincerely hope you can do the same with the Cubs.
P.S. When did the Red Sox dugout start copying my regimen?
