Looks like being runners up last year hasn't halted the Rangers a bit. Game 6 of the ALCS was last night and the Rangers were leading the series 3-2. The Tigers didn't want to go out quietly and it looked like they weren't going to. A couple of early solo home runs made it 2-0 for the Tigers early in the game. However this seemed like a minor beeping sound compared to what happened next. The Rangers blew the game open in the 3rd inning scoring 9 runs. The Tigers tried desperately to stop the bleeding that inning but by the time they did it was too late. Rangers win it, 15-5, and advance to the World Series for a second year in a row winning the ALCS, 4-2.
A phenomenal series by the Rangers and one highlighted by hitting, especially by Nelson Cruz. Who says they need Cliff Lee? A second straight World Series appearance. Good for the Rangers. Many teams tend to fall off the face of the earth when they fall in the Championship round or game the previous season. Not the Rangers. They bounce back ready for seconds. Hopefully for them this serving tastes a lot better.
