Barry Bonds is Sentenced

The Barry Bonds steroids story seems to be at a near end. Bonds was sentenced yesterday for the one count of obstruction of justice that he was found guilty of back in April. Bonds was sentenced to 30 days of house arrest and two years probation. The prosecution wanted him to serve 15 months in prison but Bonds' history up to this point has seemingly gotten him a lighter sentence. Anyway, it doesn't seem light enough. Bonds will not serve the sentence immediately as he is appealing the decision.

Barry Bonds is getting a slap on the wrist and he is appealing that. How hard is it for you to stay indoors for 30 days? Play a game or something. Just don't juice while you do it. I understand that he has the money to appeal this and he has the right to but this punishment is very minuscule that I'm surprised he's appealing it.

With the courtroom stuff practically over, the Bonds story seems to be finished as well. Bonds will likely be brought up a few more times in the future, most likely when people are discussing whether or not he belongs in the Hall of Fame. Seeing how the writers have treated those steroid users that have recently been added to the ballot, it doesn't look like Bonds will get into Cooperstown.
