Packers Barely Stay Undefeated, More Late Winning for Tebow Led Broncos, Cowboys Upset By Cards and More

The Packers entered Week 13 still undefeated and all eyes were on them, including the rest of the '72 Dolphins, seeing if they would slip up. This week the Pack went into the Meadowlands to face the Giants. The Giants were looking to rebound and looked like they had rebounded, at least on offense. Eli Manning kept the Giants in it and near the end of the game threw a TD pass to Hakeem Nicks and then DJ Ware ran it in for two points. Good news: they tied the game at 35. Bad news: they left 58 seconds left for Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers managed a few nice throws to some receivers and got the team within FG range for Mason Crosby. Crosby hits the 31 yard FG good and wins it as time expired, 38-35, for the Packers. Green Bay are 12-0 and still undefeated while the Giants skid more losing their 4th straight game.

Another game in the NFL that came down to a FG as time expired was in Minnesota. The Broncos faced the Vikings and it became a high scoring game in the 2nd half and, believe it or not, Tim Tebow and the Broncos managed to keep pace. A couple passing TDs from Tebow and a Willis McGahee TD run kept it close. After a Ryan Longwell FG was made for the Vikings with 3:06 to go, the Broncos managed to move it in just close enough for Matt Prater to make the tying FG with 1:33 left. About a minute and a half for Christian Ponder which is plenty of time to make a game winning drive except a Ponder pass was intercepted in Vikings territory by Andre' Goodman and he brought to the 15 of Minnesota. That set up a 23 yard FG by Matt Prater which he made as time expired giving the Broncos the win, 35-32. Broncos win again with Tebow at center and are now 6-1 with him as their starting QB.

As for the rest of the NFL, the Raiders needed a win to keep a game in front of the Broncos. Dolphins blow them out of the water, instead, 34-14. The Broncos and the Raiders are tied in the AFC West at 7-5 apiece. The Giants loss means the Cowboys could get a 2 game advantage in the NFC East. However, they forgot to win. Cardinals beat the Cowboys in OT, 19-13, as the Giants catch a break. The Saints help the Packers clinch the NFC North by beating the Lions, 31-17. The Chiefs also aid the Pack's cause by beating the Bears, 10-3. Last thing I'll mention is the Ravens beat the Browns, 24-10, and the Steelers demolish the Bengals, 35-7. Both teams are 9-3 but the Ravens own the tiebreaker so they technically have the lead in the AFC North.

Week 13 ends Monday night with the Chargers squaring off against the Jaguars.
