The Green Bay Packers were 13-0 entering this Sunday's match up with the Chiefs and it looked obvious going in that they were going to be 14-0. A new QB and new head coach for the Chiefs spells trouble. Or did it spell life for Kansas City? The second one. Aaron Rodgers had trouble today moving the ball and getting TD's against the Chiefs led by Kyle Orton and Romeo Crennel. Somehow the Chiefs controlled and owned this ballgame and managed to hold on to the ball at the end to win it. Chiefs win, 19-14, and give the Packers an early Christmas gift: their first loss of the year. Every team has to loss sometime but to the Chiefs?
Later that day, there was a showdown in Denver between the Patriots and the Broncos. Everyone in Denver had been chugging the cool aid that Tim Tebow was providing, all except the new guys in the town led by Tom Brady. The Broncos were able to keep it close for a while until the 2nd quarter when the Pats outscored them 20-3 in that quarter. The Pats controlled the rest of the game and won it, 41-23. 3 turnovers on 3 fumbles (one by Tebow) cost the Broncos dearly as the Pats committed no turnovers. Brady and the Pats just proved too much for the Broncos this day.
As for the rest of the league, the Broncos were able to maintain a 1 game lead over the AFC West, however, thanks to the Lions defeating the Raiders, 28-27. A TD pass to Calvin Johnson with under 40 seconds left gives them the lead and a block FG on Sebastian Janikowski's kick by Ndamukong Suh seals this one for the Lions as they are now 9-5. The Colts manage to win their first game of the year, 27-13, over the Titans. They avoid the shame of having a winless season and with that Peyton Manning is now not coming back this year for sure. The NFC East is now set up for a wild finish as the Giants lose to the Redskins 23-10, the Cowboys beat the Bucs (last night) 31-15, and the Eagles defeated the Jets 45-19. The Giants and the Cowboys can still take the division by winning out but the Eagles' dream of a postseason barely lives on.
A wild Week 15 throughout the NFL and the week ends tonight with the Steelers coming into San Francisco to face the 49ers. GO NINERS!!!
P.S. It's at this time that I say to Don Shula and the remaining 72' Dolphins to go F**K THEMSELVES!!! I hope the corks hit you in the Jingle Balls you arrogant bastards. Merry Christmas!!!
