Alright, What Else is Going On?

With the end of the NFL season, I now have to turn my attention elsewhere and figure out what else is going on in the wonderful world of sports.

In the NBA, the big current news is that Kobe Bryant just passed Shaquille O'Neal on the all time scoring list for fifth place. Even though they lost to the Sixers last night in that same game, Kobe doesn't care as long as he can just say he is better than Shaq in everything. Elsewhere in the NBA, it seems that Chicago and OKC have the best winning percentages in their respective conferences. Meanwhile, the Clippers are creating a buzz around the NBA, recent champions like the Celtics, Lakers, and Mavs are under performing, and the Nuggets are 15-10 without Melo while the Knicks are 10-15 with him. Though to be fair I have heard that Melo has had a few "Knicks" along the way.

What about that "other" league? The NHL has just been waiting for Sidney Crosby to return (again) and it seems like his docs missed a neck injury that might be causing his problems. I wonder what crappy HMO he has? Meanwhile, it looks like the Rangers and the Red Wings are the best teams in the league so far at least by points in the standings. Other stories around the league include when is Sidney Crosby coming back, how is Sidney Crosby doing, and , my gosh, I miss Sidney Crosby. Also the San Jose Sharks are on pace to make their annual elimination appearance in the playoffs.

Briefly in the world of soccer, Man City still has an edge in the EPL title race but with only a 2 point lead. Meanwhile, my Chelsea is barely holding onto fourth place as they just blew a 3-0 lead over Man U to end up with a tie game, 3-3. But hey, they're still in the UCL though. HA HA HA. Speaking of the UCL, the Round of 16 begins on February 14th. The most interesting two game match up seems to be between AC Milan and Arsenal not to insult Marseille vs. Internazionale. Just to wrap this up, Real Madrid and Barcelona are still around in the UCL. Meanwhile, Real Madrid leads La Liga by 7 points while Barcelona eliminated Real Madrid from the Copa del Rey.

That whole summation took longer than expected. And yes, expect more Futbol posts. Heaven knows that I can't keep doing posts with the two big professional sports here all the time.
