Red Wings Win 21st Straight Home Game
Hopes you all had a great Valentine's day. The Detroit Red Wings sure did. They played the Dallas Stars last night in Detroit and would win the game, 3-1. It's always nice to get a win but this one set a record. The Red Wings won their 21st straight game on their home ice, an NHL record. This breaks the 20 game home winning record, a mark made over 80 years ago by Boston in the 1929-1930 season and tied by Philly in 1976. A very cool achievement for the Red Wings as this streak sort of makes them the one team you don't want to have home ice advantage in the Postseason. Sure, home ice advantage doesn't seem to matter much in the postseason in recent years but why take a chance now?
