The Indianapolis Colts and their fanbase must think it's a Christmas miracle of sorts for their coach to finally be back with them. Chuck Pagano took an indefinite leave of absence earlier this season due to being diagnosed with Leukemia. He was able to beat it while the team and the city rallied for him and managed to grab a playoff spot. Pagano finally returned back to the Colts taking over again as head coach of the team.
"I know Chuck is ready for this challenge," Colts owner Jim Irsay
said. "I know the time is right for him to grab the reins and get the
head coaching cap on and begin the journey.
"The great thing about
the National Football League is that so much attention gets paid to it,
so many other things happen beside win and losses and the inspiration
Chuck has shown to others and the time Chuck has spent connecting with
others, it really is miraculous. It's a fairytale story, it's a
Hollywood script, it's all of those things."
Chuck came back on Christmas Eve feeling better.
"I feel great," Pagano said "My weight is back. My energy is back. It's a blessing to be back."
It's definitely a great gift for him to be back with the Colts after what he has gone through. Welcome back Chuck and Merry Christmas to you and everyone.
