NBA fans have been aware of the Gilbert Arenas situation where he pulled out a gun in a NBA locker room as part of a "joke" about a month ago. David Stern has already taken action because of Arenas' behavior after the event and has suspended the star indefinitely. Now it was the DA's turn as they sought to prosecute Arenas. Arenas would plead guilty to a single violation of DC's guns policy. While Arenas will not be sentenced until March, there is speculation that he will get little or no jail time.
Maybe the seriousness of the situation has caught up to Arenas now that the law has made it's presence known. I hope that Arenas is sent to jail for a time even if it is for less than a few months. This experience has been a humbling one to Arenas and has brought him down to earth. How this will hurt the rest of his NBA career, we will have to see when Arenas' legal trouble is over.
