Big Unit Retires

Hitters can finally breath a sigh of relief as Randy Johnson, the Big Unit, has retired from baseball. For 22 years, Johnson has been one of the most dominating pitchers in the game. He had a fastball that often was in the high 90's and his slider could strike you out and sit you down. Not to mention this all came from a guy that was almost 7 feet tall. That's Intimidation. Johnson finishes his career with a 303-166 record, a career 3.29 ERA, and 4,875 Strikeouts which is second to only Nolan Ryan. He won one World Series Title (2001) and was Co World Series MVP with Curt Schilling. He pitched great games including two no hitters in which one was a perfect game back in 2004. Johnson also has 5 total Cy Young Awards spread throughout his career. Johnson retires as a Giant but will be remembered mainly for his tenures in Seattle and Arizona. Johnson is definitely a Hall of Famer and is in the debate for one of the best lefties of all time. I don't know however if Johnson can get into Cooperstown. Those doorways only go so high.
