Meyer to Coach in the Spring and Cable Still in Oakland

Urban Meyer stated a few weeks ago that he was going to take a leave of absence instead of leaving the Gators. Well that leave may already be over as Meyer says he is feeling better and he plans to coach in the spring. Sounds like the biggest false alarm ever. It looks like Meyer still has a way to go but it does look like nothing is changing in Gainesville.

Another coaching situation has been settled but in the NFL, not in college. Al Davis and the Raiders have been debating amongst themselves whether to keep Tom Cable. The Raiders did have a losing record this year but they did have some impressive wins. It might have one of their better seasons in recent memory. For that, Tom Cable will stay on for the next season as head coach of the Raiders. I say give him a couple more years to get in the playoffs. If they have more of those kind of wins, Cable may be the coach for a long time in Oakland.
