The 3rd of the 4 BCS Bowl games came as the Boise State Broncos played against the TCU Horned Frogs in the Fiesta Bowl. Two non BCS teams played for a BCS Bowl title. Ironic, huh. I was expecting a big scoring game from at least one side but it was all about defense in this one. In fact, both offenses only scored 10 points a piece. Boise State would go up early due to a interception return for a TD by Brandyn Thompson. Boise State would go on to win this game 17-10. TCU had its biggest game in decades and they fall just short of winning. Chris Petersen (BSU Head Coach) has truly made Boise State the team to fear outside of the major conferences.
Last Saturday, the Alamo Bowl was played with Texas Tech playing against Michigan State without Mike Leach. This was a true test for the Red Raiders to show how good they really were. They would not disappoint as they won 41-31. This would be a back and forth game throughout until late in the fourth quarter when Texas Tech had a solid enough lead to win. Texas Tech's Interim Head Coach Ruffin McNeil did a good job with this win. Whether he will be the Red Raiders permanent Head Coach is still anyone's guess. I think he should at least retain a spot on the coaching staff.
P.S. How does College Football expect me to take the Fiesta Bowl seriously with that name? You couldn't think of any other name?
