Okay, What I Miss?

My vacation is over (finally) and I'm back to complaining (with some reporting) about the sports world once again. Some notable things have happened as soon as I left: the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs came and went. I was actually right about 3 of the 4 games with the wrong pick being the Patriots over the Jets. Got to give credit to Jets. They now go on to their 2nd straight AFC Title game with this one vs. the Steelers. Tomorrow the love will be over and the hits to see who will play in the Super Bowl will begin. My pick goes to the Steelers. They want some revenge from their lost to the Jets just a few weeks ago and I think they will get it.

As for the NFC Title Game, it's the oldest rivalry in the NFL: the Packers vs. the Bears. They split the season series earlier this year and will have their grudge match in Chicago. Despite getting to the NFC Title Game, people are still doubting the Bears. They did only beat the Seahawks but the Seahawks in turn had just beaten the Super Bowl Champs, the New Orleans Saints. Hard pick here but I will have to choose the Bears. It may make more sense to pick the Packers in many ways but the Bears seem more balanced and ready to go.

Other newsworthy items are Hue Jackson officially becoming the Raiders head coach. Still would've been better to keep Tom Cable but at least I'm not a Raiders fan. Manny Ramirez and Johnny Damon reunite as teammates agreeing to play for the Rays. It will not be enough for the Rays, however, as both Damon and Manny are aging and they have lost too many players in the off season. And lastly I still don't care about the NBA. I just don't.
