The next NFL division to look at is the NFC South. Last year, the Falcons controlled this division and went 13-3 leading not only the south, but the entire NFC. They were then promptly eliminated by the soon to be Super Bowl Champions, the Packers. But they are back and still look pretty good. However, they might have some trouble repeating as division champions. Though they missed the playoffs last year, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers went 10-6 and their QB, Josh Freeman, looked good. Little attention went to the Bucs but the way they are set up they might just force attention upon themselves.
As for the other two teams, the Saints still have a realistic shot at the division. No Reggie Bush makes things harder for them but with Drew Brees leading the way they have a chance. As for the Panthers, their big highlight will be how Cam Newton will do this season. They don't look as good as anyone else and with a rookie leading their team, it will not be a pretty year for Carolina. This division often has a lot of turnover but it won't happen for the Panthers this year.
As for my pick, I do see a new division champion with the Buccaneers. Cheer up, Atlanta, I still think you'll make the playoffs. Just as a Wild Card team. Sorry to New Orleans.
P.S. Be sure to catch the Fall Premiere of the Sports Khan Radio Show, today at 4 PM on KSUNradio.com... Pretty Good.
