I haven't written about baseball a lot recently what with the Giants and the Red Sox struggling so much. Today might be an exception to my silence. The Giants were 6 back of the D'Backs and were basically playing to stay alive in the NL West race. They squared off against the D'Backs in Arizona in the first of a 3 game series. We had the lead for most of the game until Arizona tied it in the 7th and then Goldschmidt hit a two run triple in the 8th. J.J. Putz saved it for the D'Backs in the 9th and sealed our fate. Arizona wins the game, 3-1, and wins the NL West.
I must this has been an inevitability for a while and quite frankly I'm okay with it. I'm depressed that the Giants won't get into the playoffs this year but I remember the fact that they won it all last year and as the underdogs going into the postseason. A great memory that can never be taken away. The D'Backs just wanted it more this year and they deserved it. We had plenty of opportunities to win the division and blew it.
Congrats to the D'Backs for winning the NL West. I hope the Phillies kick your a**.
P.S. Just cause I'm understanding doesn't mean I not wishing for their demise.
