Yesterday was the final day of the US Open thanks to a bit of a rain delay and the Men's Final featured Rafael Nadal v. Novak Djokovic. Novak has owned Nadal on the court this whole year and this match wouldn't be any different. Despite being a bit sore, Djokovic managed to beat Rafael Nadal in 4 sets 6-2, 6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-1 and win the US Open on the men's side. This win was Djokovic's 4t Grand Slam Title and 3rd one this year. Djokovic only has one more Grand Slam event to claim in his career and that is the French Open.
But of course there is no need to worry about that now. Sit back and enjoy the win. Congrats to Novak Djokovic on winning the 2011 US Open. You truly are the most dominate player on the men's side.
P.S. As the year in tennis comes to a close, one thing stands out and that is that Roger Federer did not win a Grand Slam in 2011. The last one he claimed was the Australian Open back in 2010. Perhaps Federer's time to shine has come to a close for good.
