MLB Playoffs Coming Up

Over the past week and a half, the Playoff picture has been set for October. The NL East has been taken by the Phillies even though they have no dominant closer unlike last year's World Series run. The Cardinals have clinched the NL central division with the strength of Albert Pujols. The NL West is likely to go to the Dodgers with a 2.5 game lead over the Rockies. Lastly the Rockies will probably win the Wild Card having at least a four game lead over everyone else.

The AL has been a bit different. The AL Central has come down to this week but the winner looks to be the Tigers permitting the Twins don't magically come back. The AL East has been taken by the ever dominant Yankees (Damn Them). The AL West is once again taken by the Angels who have not forgotten Nick Aidenhart in their celebration. How Sweet. Lastly, The Red Sox have managed to get the Wild Card despite their recent losses. Not good momentum for going into October.

Baseball seems to be duller than usual this September. Things will definitely heat up once the playoffs arrive next week. Before the Playoffs start, I will examine the match ups and all the team and give my predictions for the 2009 MLB Postseason. But that will be next week. In the meantime, back to football.
