Devils Clinch Spot in Stanley Cup Finals

It was game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals in the NHL and the Devils were looking to go on while the Rangers were looking to survive. It was an exciting game 5 at MSG and this game 6 was in just across the river. Just like game 5, the Devils got out to an early lead but the Rangers fought back and tied the game again. This one, however, would go into overtime. It didn't take that long, however, for the game to end when OT started. Adam Henrique managed to get the goal during a mad scramble at the Rangers' net. The Devils win, 3-2, and take the series 4-2.

The Devils oust the Rangers despite the fact it was the anniversary of some sort of guarantee win regarding this two same teams back in the 1990's. I'm glad the Devils went on but I would've rather have had the Rangers in the finals. I just love hearing soundbites from their head coach, John Tortorella. Can't always get the interesting ones.

Anyway, we are finally down to the last two teams in the playoffs: the Los Angeles King from the West, and the New Jersey Devils from the East. A upstart team that loves the offense vs. a traditional powerhouse that plays defense. I am definitely going to love watching this series.
