Knicks Win a Playoff Game: GET THE PARADE READY!!!

If there was one team that was always interesting to follow this season it was the New York Knicks. From Linsanity to just Melo, it was like a soap opera with all the different changes and drama. Entering the postseason didn't really change that. They performed horribly in Miami and, in the middle of it all, Amare Stoudemire injures his hand by punching glass. Seriously, soap opera gold. Or is it diva gold?

Anyway, one thing that the Knicks would love to do before they get eliminated from the playoffs is actually win a postseason game. It doesn't seem like a big deal when you need to win four games in order to advance to the next round but it was to the Knicks. Facing elimination, the Knicks went into MSG to take on the Heat once more. Carmelo Anthony had to carry the team into the playoffs and he had to do it again in this game. Melo scored 41 points last night in order to help the Knicks win the game, 89-87. It might be such a big deal but it was the Knicks' first postseason win since 2001.

13 postseason losses in a row before this win for the Knicks. Now this won't help them now but it does get some sort of monkey off their backs. They do need a lot of work still in order to move forward but this a nice thing to build off of for next season. The thing is that fans want a deep playoff run and they are not going to get that this year from the Knicks. Maybe next year when the team has time to work together and when they possibly get a new coach they will go farther in the postseason.

For now, it's a consolation prize and you can say that they simmered the Heat down a bit. At least it's a sign of improvement.
