One of the big stories of the season so far this baseball season is the fact that Albert Pujols has been slumping since he came to the Angels. He was batting under .200 and wasn't able to hit a home run yet. He was even given the day off yesterday possibly because of his slump. He was put back in the lineup today and he finally woke up. While the Angels were playing Blue jays, Pujols finally connected for a two run home run. It was hit in the fifth inning and into the bullpens in LF. After 33 games and 139 at bats dating back to last season, Pujols finally hit another home run and his first one with his new team. The Angels would win, 4-3.
A good game for Albert once again. The talk has been that he just needs to hit one home run to break the tension and get into the grove. If you're the Angels, you're hoping that is correct. He's got a lot of homers to hit to feel like spending all that money was worth it. Either that or a World Series or two.
