Thunder Take the Lakers Out of the Playoffs

This last series between the Thunder and Lakers was revealing for both sides. The Thunder looked like serious contenders for the title and the Lakers looked like they were falling apart. Game 5 was last night in OKC and the Thunder were looking to put the Lakers in the rear view mirror. While it was a game at half time but the 4th quarter just killed the Lakers and sealed their fate. Bryant had scored 42 in this game but it wasn't enough as he needed more from his big men. The Thunder win, 106-90, and take the series 4-1.

The Thunder move on and the Lakers go home. OKC now has a real chance to get to the NBA Finals but have to first go through the Spurs. I would favor the Spurs in this series just by how they are playing but it wouldn't surprise me if the Thunder manage to stun them. As for the Lakers, they now have to go back to the drawing board as Kobe Bryant ages another year without getting that 6th title. One of his two big guys, Pau Gasol or Andrew Bynum, must be done in LA depending on what the team can get.

The Western Conference Finals will start Sunday and I must say that I might actually take a peak at them.
