Lou Piniella's Last Game
Instead of waiting until the end of the season, Lou Piniella retired as the manager of the Cubs earlier today. Reasons for his early departure is Lou needing to spend more time with his ailing mother. Mike Quade will take over as the manager of the Cubs (for now). It was a shame that his last game was a huge loss 16-5 against the Braves. He finished his career with a overall record of 1,835-1,713. He had one World Series Title as a manager and a two as a player. There is some speculation that Lou will be a broadcaster sometime in the future but Lou says that he hasn't thought about that. I wish Lou a happy retirement and hope he will still stay apart of the game in some way.
