The big story at the Masters earlier this year was Rory McIlroy's amazing start and then stumbling finish. With Tiger Woods not even competing at the US Open, the story goes to Rory again. Rory is once again off to a terrific start but his momentum doesn't seem to be going away. He hit 65 the first day, a 66 the 2nd, and now on the 3rd a 68. He has a total of 199 which has him 14 under par setting a 54 hole record at the US Open. He seems to have this thing wrapped up as he is 8 strokes in front of Y.E. Yang. The world now waits to see what his last day will be like and to see if he can hold it together for 18 more holes. It seems like he will.
P.S. Yes, it is a relatively slow sports week. I would talk about baseball more but to be honest there are too many games for me to make comment on. How the hell does anyone make new speculation and significant analysis of a team 162 times? It's impossible.
P.P.S. Plus the Giants and Red Sox both lost and the Yankees won. It's been a horrible day.
