Rory McIlroy Wins 2011 US Open

The 2011 US Open at Congressional ends with only one story to talk about and that is Rory McIlroy. With Tiger Woods' popularity and talent slipping away, Rory saw an opportunity to fill that void. Though he would fail to close at the Masters, he didn't fail to close at Congressional. He shot a 69 on the final day of the tournament which is 2 under par. He finishes the event 16 under par with a score of 268. Truly a remarkable performance. The next guy, Jason Day, finished with a fine score himself with a 276 which is 8 under par. That would be good enough to win at this event most of the time but not this year. This torunament goes to Rory McIlroy. Congrats on getting your first Major title. He's only 22 and already he's played a legendary performance.
