Beckham to Stay in LA

When the MLS season ended last November (hell, even before that), speculation began on whether or not David Beckham would stay with the LA Galaxy or not. Teams from England expressed interest, teams specifically from London, but the one team that seemed like the biggest contender for Beckham's feet was actually from across the channel with Paris Saint-Germain or PSG. They didn't seem to last long at all despite offering $18 million for 18 months as they were turned down at the beginning of the New Year. The public had no idea what was going on until today when it was announced that David Beckham will stay in Southern California. Beckham has agreed to a two year contract to stay with the LA Galaxy.

The MLS Cup winners All Star roster remains intact. It will be Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane, and David Beckham together for a while. This definitely makes the Galaxy the favorite for the MLS Cup for this season. Still, you have to wonder when David Beckham will start to fade into the sunset for good. It doesn't seem like it any time soon as he posted his best numbers in MLS just this last season. I wonder, myself, whether or not David Beckham will actually finish his career in LA. He will be 37 this year and should almost be done.

Glad to see you still in MLS, even if it is in SoCal. Stay as long as you like, Beckham.
