So many different groups have come together to want to buy the Dodgers that it's hard to even care any more about more possible Dodger owners. Another big name has thrown his hat into the ring for the team. Joe Torre, who was manager of the Dodgers from 2008-2010, is leaving his current job with MLB as Vice President of Baseball operations to join a bidding group for the Dodgers. Joe Torre was only with the commissioner's office for about a year and now leaves to try his hand in running an actual team instead of umpires.
Another name joins the party. So, who have we got so far that wants a piece of the LA Team? We have Joe Torre and his group, Magic Johnson's group, Steve Garvey and Orel Hershiser's group, Larry King's group, Fred Claire's group, Peter O'Malley (former Dodgers owner) and his group, and possibly Mark Cuban depending on how much the media want to make this one a reality. Who of these has the best shot of owning the Dodgers? If it wasn't about the money and about preference, I would say O'Malley because of previous experience. If Joe Torre was picked ultimately, it would seem like it was fixed towards Torre from within. Just something the conspiracy theorists would say (like myself).
