Just about two months ago, Joe Paterno was fired from Penn State after 46 years as the Penn State football coach amidst one of the biggest scandals in sports history. Finding a successor to Joe Pa was something tricky to do considering the situation. You'll have to find someone that will be able to bring Penn State out of the shambles by rebuilding a football program. The Nittany Lions have found their builder. It's Patriots offensive coordinator, Bill O'Brien. Of course, O'Brien isn't not splitting from the Pats right now. He will leave the team after the postseason or, in other words, at the end of next week (ha ha ha).
I am very glad that Bill O'Brien has been chosen as the new Penn State football coach. I'm not really happy for him but at the fact that he was chosen instead of Greg Roman. The 49ers need to keep Greg Roman not because of his skill level but just because Alex Smith needs a Offensive Coordinator to stay on for once. Anyway, good for O'Brien, I guess. I'm not sure how important he was to the Pats considering Tom Brady was the man he was working with.
As I close, Bill O'Brien will need all the luck he can get considering the state that Penn State is in. Huge scandal that haunts the university, top recruits going to other schools, and still Joe Pa's shoes to fill after 46 years of great football. No vacation for O'Brien, that's for sure.
