At the end of the 2010 NFL Season, Jeff Fisher and the Titans had "parted ways" leaving Fisher unemployed this season. That time of unemployment didn't last longer than that. Jeff Fisher was the coach perhaps most sought after so far since the end of 2011. True, Bill Cowher and Jon Gruden's names were mentioned but neither one seemed to want to leave the press box for the sidelines. Jeff Fisher didn't seem to want the press box. Two teams were in the running for Fisher. One team was the Miami Dolphins who are still looking for a replacement for Tony Sparano. The other team did get Jeff Fisher and that was the St. Louis Rams. Fisher now will take on the Rams job taking over for Steve Spagnuolo after a disappointing 2-14 season.
Seems like a sweet deal for Fisher. As coach of the Rams, he has a young QB with All Star potential in him, the 2nd pick in the draft, and a considerably weak division with one exception... THE 49ERS!!! Seems like a recipe that could get the Rams contending for Wild Card spot within a couple of years, maybe even next season. Of course, Fisher will have some latitude considering he is taking over for a 2-14 team. While he is there, he will be expected to make sure Sam Bradford becomes an elite QB in the NFL. I hope he fails in all of these aspects miserably.
