Cinderella Returns to the Final Four and UConn Holds Off Arizona's Rally

The Elite 8 had begun and 2 teams punched their tickets to Houston. The first game featured last year's Cinderella team, Butler, facing Florida who had just beaten Jimmer Fredette and BYU. It was a close game throughout but it seemed at one point that Florida was going to win as they had a 11 point lead with less than 10 minutes to go. Butler fought backed, however, and forced Overtime. A second OT game for the Gators and this time it did not go their way. Thanks to a 3 pointer and key free throws made, Butler would beat Florida, 74-71, and advance to a second straight Final Four. Shelvin Mack was the big scorer for the Bulldogs as he put up 27 in the win.

The second game featured Arizona vs. UConn to decide the West Region. A good game down the stretch as well as the Wildcats pulled within 2 points with about a minute left. However, UConn would hold them off despite late 3 point attempts from Arizona. The Huskies win, 65-63, and advance to the Final Four for the 2nd time in 3 years. Kemba Walker was the big player for UConn as he scored 20 points, got 7 assists and 4 rebounds in the win.

UConn and Butler are still dancing while the rest of the Elite 8 will play tomorrow. VCU will play against Kansas and Kentucky will face UNC.
