Okay, who really got the better deal?
The Knicks just lost a 4th straight game, this time to the Orlando Magic, 111-99. Dwight Howard had a huge game with 33 points and 11 rebounds while Melo had 24 points, 9 assists, and 5 rebounds. Meanwhile, Melo's former team, the Nuggets, beat the Spurs, 115-112. Al Harrington scored the most for the Nuggets with 27 points and he was a bench player. Right now, the Knicks are 35-36 and the Nuggets are 43-29.
What the hell is happening with these two teams? Since they've acquired Melo, the Knicks are 7-10 and are now below .500 for the year. Meanwhile the Nuggets are 11-4 since the trade and just beat the Spurs. Also it seems that the Knicks are getting worse. They have now lost 7 of their last 8 games. This Melo trade hasn't seemed to have worked out so far. Right now, the Knicks have the 7th seed in the East while the Nuggets have the 5th seed.
Maybe this is what the Nuggets needed; to simply get rid of the distraction. It seems to me that they are doing better without him. Meanwhile, New York cannot get a break.
