Louisville Ousted, Buzzer Beater for Butler, Richmond Topples Vanderbilt and More

The first day of the REAL March Madness contest began as there were a couple upsets with some notable advancements. The Big upset of the day was Morehead State over Louisvile, 62-61. Demonte Harper of Morehead State nailed a 3-pointer with 4.2 seconds left which gave the Eagles the win over the Cardinals. The 13th seed of the Southwestern conference moves on to face the 12th seed Richmond who also had a upset win over #5 Vanderbilt, 69-66. Two unlikely Cinderella teams now have to eliminate the other to move on.

As for the rest of the day, Butler had a great ending in their win over Old Diminion as Matt Howard was able to score the game winning layup just as the buzzer sounded, 60-58. Last year's Cinderella team is able to keep some of the magic alive. Pittsburgh gets an routine win over UNC-Asheville, 74-51. They will take on Butler next. Kentucky manages to win over Princeton, 59-57, with the difference being from Brandon Knight's only basket at the end of the game. They will take on West Virginia in the next round who just beat Clemson, 84-76.

Not a bad first day of the Tournament. Coach K says that Kyrie Irving will be able to play a bit in tomorrow's game vs. Hampton. Sounds like good news for the Duke Blue Devils.
