2010 AL Central Preview: The True Wild Card Division

Until Joe Nathan was injured, the Twins were the favorite for the AL Central. Now it can go to anyone. Even when the Twins had Nathan, they had to win the division in a one game playoff against the Tigers. The Twins now have lost a key edge and there's a good chance that they won't repeat. I now think the Tigers are the favorite even though they lost Grady Anderson. They still have Miguel Cabrera, Brandon Inge and Magglio Ordonez along with Justin Verlander and Rick Porcello on the mound.

Don't count out the rest of the division however. The White Sox will definitely make a better impact than last season now having a healthy Jake Peavy and upstart Gordon Beckham. The Indians and the Royals though don't have much of a shot. The Indians seem to be in rebuilding mode and The Royals have nothing going for them except for AL Cy Young Winner Zach Greinke.

To sum up, Tigers are the favorite but a small change in the wind could change the outcome.
