The Dutch to Play For the World Cup

The World Cup Semifinals started today with Uruguay vs. the Netherlands. Uruguay's Luis Suarez wasn't able to play for Uruguay because of a red card against Ghana and may have been needed in this one. The Dutch would strike first with a brilliant goal with a hard angle and long range shot from Giovanni Van Bronckhorst in the 18'. Uruguay would make another comeback, however, thanks to another great shot from Diego Forlan in the 41' to tie the game at 1-1. The second half came and the Dutch would strike again with Wesley Sneijder in the 70' making a questionable goal at best (another Dutch player may have help it go in and he was offsides; wasn't called offsides anyway). The Dutch then scored a few minutes later (73') with Arjen Robben scoring with a header off a cross. Uruguay tried to comeback and even scored a goal in added time but it would not be enough as the Dutch win, 3-2.

The Netherlands now move on to their first World Cup Final since 1978. They have been to the final round twice and have failed both times. Maybe a third time will be the charm for the Netherlands. The World Cup will be an all European Final as the Netherlands will face the winner of tomorrow's match: Germany vs. Spain.
