Who Wants Some Hot Dogs?

Happy Independence Day everyone. This is the one day of the year where Americans sit down and enjoy one of the finest traditions ever: the Annual Fourth of July Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest. What can be more American than seeing adults try to scarf down as many Hot Dogs as they can. It's the best example of Gluttony that sports has to offer.

This year's contest, however, seemed less competitive. Apparently 6 time champion, Takeru Kobayashi, refused to sign a contract with Major League Eating and was denied a spot in the event. This left 3 time defender, Joey Chestnut, going virtually unopposed. He won again this year having eaten only 54 hot dogs (he ate a record 68 last year) in ten minutes. Some drama was added afterwards, though, as Kobayashi apparently rushed the stage and was arrested. Though maybe not won with the greatest competition, Joey Chestnut retains the Mustard Seed Belt for a 4th year in a row.

P.S. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some hot dogs to cook. Who wants Mustard?
