Is McNabb Still Worth It?

When the Redskins got Donovan McNabb from the Eagles, they thought they were getting a top level QB to lead them to the playoffs. That hasn't exactly come to pass. McNabb has been only okay throughout the season with a 75.2 passer rating, he's only thrown for 2 or more TDs once (just last night), he was benched in he end of the Lions game, and he was trounced by his former team at home. Despite all of this, McNabb has been signed to a 5 year, $78 Million extension, though signed before last night's game. With details of this contract made known and the fact that Shanahan has benched him once, is McNabb still a top QB in the league? To be fair, McNabb doesn't have the WR's he had back in Philly. And it's his and the teams first year under Mike Shanahan. But right now he doesn't deserve this contract extension. He hasn't done enough to earn it yet. He still deserves a chance considering what he has done in the past but this should've been held off till the end of year.

P.S. Perhaps this was a move to satisfy an behind the scenes angry McNabb.
