Cliff Lee Going Back to Philly?

The baseball off season became centered around one pitcher: Cliff Lee. He was a free agent and looking for a sweet deal from a high bidder. The Yankees were of course in the mix looking to add Lee to a rotation that has CC Sabathia and AJ Burnett. The Rangers, meanwhile were looking to keep Lee seeing that he was a key player in getting to the World Series. The two teams fought for Lee's affection only for Lee to agree to sign with the Phillies?

Wait a second, back it up. Cliff Lee is going back to Philadelphia? Eh, what do you know.

Cliff Lee has agreed to a 5 year $120 million guaranteed deal with the Philadelphia Phillies. Lee was part of the Phillies 2009 NL Championship team when they lost to the Yankees in the World Series that year. It's different this time around, however, as Lee may be the piece de resistance in the best rotation in the Majors alongside Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt, Cole Hamels, and Joe Blanton. Despite losing Jayson Werth, the Phillies look like the NL Favorite on paper.

P.S. Who do you think starts opening day? Halladay or Lee?

P.P.S. As for the Yankees, HA HA HA!!!
