Late Game drama filled Monday Night Football to finish Week 2. Things looked bad early for the Niners with that Safety and then the Saints taking a 9 point lead. They didn't give up, however, and fought back even taking the lead at one point. It would all come down the final minutes as the 49ers were down 22-14. Alex Smith drove them down field for the TD and the two point conversion, all with no time outs. Possibly the most clutch I've ever seen him. Too bad there was enough time for the Saints to make another drive for the win. Garrett Hartley scored the game winning field goal 25-22.
Last year the 49ers started 2-0 and now have the opposite start this year. Mike Singletary better hope this doesn't become a trend. They do have a winnable game against Kansas City next. At least it used to be considering the Chiefs are 2-0. As for Alex Smith, he had a great last drive but threw 1 TD and 2 INTs. Perhaps a glimmer of hope for this team.
