College Football continued with another great Saturday of games. One of the highlights was Michigan vs. Notre Dame. This was a classic as Notre Dame fought hard in the 2nd half to come back and take the lead, 24-21. Denard Robinson, QB of the Wolverines, wouldn't take it laying down and lead Michigan to victory scoring the game winning TD with 27 seconds left in regulation. Robinson had a total of 502 total yards, 258 on the ground and 244 through the air. The Wolverines win it, 28-24.
Meanwhile, a showdown between two old rivals was happening at the Horseshoe in Ohio. Ohio State squared off against Miami. Miami's Jacory Harris had a horrible day through the air as he was picked off 4 times by the Buckeyes. Meanwhile, Terrelle Pryor lead the Buckeyes to an impressive win scoring a passing TD and a rushing TD. Buckeyes beat the Hurricanes, 36-24.
There were a few other notable games on Saturday including USC facing Virginia. Though leading for most of the game, USC didn't win it in convincing fashion. 17-14 was the final score for Lane Kiffin's first game at the Coliseum (as USC's head coach anyway). It wasn't a pretty win but a win nonetheless for the Trojans. Meanwhile their PAC-10 rivals, Oregon, faced Tennessee. It seemed that Tennessee might win this game grabbing a 13-3 lead at one point. That didn't last long, however, as Oregon scored 45 unanswered points to win it, 48-13. LaMichael James was a big reason for that win running the ball for a 134 yards and one TD. Other scores include Oklahoma beating Florida State, 47-17, Utah over UNLV 38-10, and TCU destroying Tennessee Tech, 62-7. Of course there was Virginia Tech losing to James Madison, 21-16, as this loss now gives doubt to whether Boise State's win over Virginia Tech was really worth noting. The Broncos chances of getting into the National Title game are dwindling fast.
P.S. Not that they had a chance in the first place. I like the Broncos a lot but being in the WAC hurts their chances so much.
