Pitchers have dominated the baseball world all season long but even a few great batters must leave a mark. Two milestone hitting stats were achieved today in the same game. The Toronto Blue Jays played the Seattle Mariners where Jays player, Jose Bautista, hit his 50th home run of the season. No Analyst would've ever guessed that Bautista would hit 50 this year or even 40. He becomes the 26th player to hit 50 or more in a season. Ichiro of the Mariners would not be outdone and made a little history of his own. Ichiro got a single in the 5th inning which put him at 200 hits for the season. This makes him the first player to ever have 10 straight 200 hit seasons. He has a total of 2230 hits in his MLB career.
The game ended with Bautista's Home Run being the only run as the Blue Jays won, 1-0. Maybe not the most historic night but one worth noting at least.
