Strasburg Makes his Spring Debut

Stephen Strasburg, who was the number one overall draft pick in 2009, made his spring and Nationals debut yesterday. He pitched 2 scoreless innings in the loss to the Tigers and impressed many with his high 90's fastball. He did allow 2 hits but he did get 2 strikeouts as well. He looked great but is he ready for the Show when April comes?

NO!!! He won't be in the Majors right away (like all new prospects) and he will have to earn his way to the top. However he may get there sooner than most. True he is good and has great potential but he may be called up too fast for other reasons. Mainly for his contract, his great expectations, and the attention he has gotten. They will use his appeal and attention to put fans in the seats and make money. This may hurt Strasburg, however, as his development may be rushed too much.
